Celebrating What is to Come

Every year, the CrossPoint staff gathers in Salina for our All Staff Retreat. We worship together, eat together, laugh together, learn together, and take time to celebrate what God is doing across our church family. It is always one of the highlights of the year. God gave us much to celebrate together.

In a church spread across multiple communities, it can be easy to become focused only on what is happening in our own location or ministry. The retreat gives us the chance to step back and remember that we are one church, one team, and one family, joined together around one mission. We meet because relationships matter, unity matters, and the mission God has given us is too important for us to lead disconnected from one another.

This year’s theme was “Unwritten.” The idea was simple and hopeful: the story God is writing through CrossPoint is still unfolding. No one has arrived, and God is not finished with us yet. Everyone has a role in what comes next, and that is worth celebrating.

Throughout the retreat, we reflected on what God has already done through the faithful service of our staff and congregations. We also looked forward with expectation. We were challenged to offer God our next “yes,” to release what we have built when He calls us to, and to keep developing people who can carry the mission farther than we ever could on our own.

One of the clearest reminders of the week was that a mobilized church is measured not only by what it sustains, but by what it sends. CrossPoint is full of gifted, faithful people who serve in ways both seen and unseen. Our staff works hard, but the goal has never been for the staff to do all the ministry. Ephesians 4:12 reminds us that church leaders are called to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”

Who’s the church? We are.

That means one of the greatest things we can celebrate is not simply what our staff produces, but who they are developing. Ministry that depends on one person will eventually plateau. Ministry that multiplies through others can outlast all of us. Every volunteer who is equipped, every leader who is released, every disciple who begins helping another person follow Jesus, and every person who says yes to living sent becomes part of the unwritten story God is telling through CrossPoint.

We left the retreat grateful, encouraged, and full of expectation. I am grateful for the men and women who serve CrossPoint with humility, faithfulness, creativity, and joy. I am equally thankful for every person across our congregations who prays, gives, serves, leads, invites, encourages, and lives on mission.

The future is unwritten, but we know the One writing it. We will keep celebrating His faithfulness, saying yes to His leading, developing Kingdom Multipliers, and trusting Him with every chapter still to come.

Location Spotlight: CrossPoint Concordia

There is so much to celebrate at CrossPoint Concordia! God is moving in powerful ways, and we are seeing lives changed as people grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus. It has been exciting to watch spiritual growth take place across all of our ministries as people continue to step out in faith, serve one another, and share God’s love.

Our recent All Staff Retreat was a tremendous encouragement. It was a meaningful time of worship, fellowship, and seeking God’s direction together. We left refreshed, unified, and expectant, believing that what God did in our staff will overflow into every area of our church family.

As we look ahead, we would appreciate your prayers.

  • Please pray for continued unity among our staff as we pursue God’s vision together, for wisdom as we lead, and for ongoing spiritual growth throughout our congregation.
  • Most of all, pray that our community will experience the love of Christ through the lives of our CrossPoint family. May our consistency in showing love, extending generosity, and faithfully sharing the hope of the Gospel make a lasting impact on Concordia for God’s glory.

A New Conversation Begins: Introducing Point Taken

For the past few years, CPXL (CrossPoint Extra Large) has been a place where we’ve unpacked sermons, explored biblical topics, and answered questions about faith. It’s been a privilege to continue conversations beyond Sunday and help people grow deeper in their understanding of God’s Word.

As we’ve looked toward the future, we’ve sensed an opportunity to take that vision even further.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce Point Taken–a new podcast from CrossPoint designed to help people connect biblical truth to everyday life.

While the name has changed, the heart remains the same: helping ordinary people be changed by Jesus to do extraordinary things. Point Taken creates space for honest conversations around the questions people are already asking–about faith, relationships, culture, purpose, suffering, decisions, and what it looks like to follow Jesus in the middle of everyday life.

Hosted by Lead Pastors Andy Addis and Eric Franklin, each episode will feature thoughtful, practical conversations that are rooted in Scripture while remaining approachable and relatable. Throughout the season, they’ll also be joined by a variety of guests who bring unique experiences, perspectives, and wisdom to the discussion. Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years or you’re just beginning to explore faith, Point Taken is designed to meet you where you are.

One exciting addition to this new format is our recurring Q&A episodes. Throughout the season, listeners will have the opportunity to submit questions they’ve always wanted to ask–about the Bible, theology, life, or anything in between. These episodes create space to address real questions from our church family and continue building a culture where curiosity is welcome and God’s truth is explored together.

We believe discipleship doesn’t stop when the Sunday service ends. Some of the most meaningful growth happens throughout the week–in the car on your morning commute, during a workout, over a lunch break, or while taking a walk. Point Taken is another way we hope to come alongside you in those moments, encouraging you to keep pursuing Jesus and applying His truth in everyday life.

Our goal in launching Point Taken is simple: to provide a resource that equips, encourages, and challenges people to follow Jesus more faithfully in every area of life. We want these conversations to strengthen your faith, spark meaningful discussions with others, and help you confidently live out the gospel wherever God has placed you.

Whether you’ve been listening since the CPXL days or you’re tuning in for the very first time, we’re grateful you’re joining us for this next chapter.

The first episode of Point Taken launches on September 1st. We can’t wait for you to listen and join the conversation.
